3CX3000F7 PLASMA AMP TO 40 METER CONVERSION
this amp is set for 40m band, you can play with numbers and values until MFJ shows good.
This guy is very friendly and will help you if you email him, and he IS cb friendly !
Rick
In my experience swing kits only increase wattage and not modulation.
and since modulation is what makes you loud, not watts, I let my amplifier create the watts I am looking for.
So in my opinion, and since most amplifiers sound better with lower drive Vs. higher drive, I keep my PEP into...
and that statement is why CB'ers will ALWAYS be stuck in the MUD,
ANYONE with a 50 dollar oscilloscope, and a bird meter with a PEP kit can tell you you are FLAT OUT WRONG.
Test it for your self. You will find the same conclusion the rest of us did.
a properly modulated ( no pinch or flat...
hey mr suburban,
Do people on this forum really believe that an antenna alone can really add or take away audio from a signal ?
I have heard of antennas having gain in power and improperly tuned antennas having a reduction in gain, but never a antenna adding or subtracting audio alone.
Funny...
Yea that's why I put custom sizes available, for the guys that wanted to build something bigger, I personally tested the 10/11 meter band, which are about 6 foot fiberglass pieces total of 12 foot edge to edge, my tower is 50', we had a 45 mph wind gust the other day and the didn't really flex...
If your load ( antenna ) is EXACTLY 50 OHM's.
AND
your load does not have ANY inductance or reactance ( J +/- Zero ),
Then, and only then you length of coax does not matter.
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
If you have to RE-TUNE your amplifier after switching from your...
Hey thanks for the correction, and thanks for the info its all been a great help.
So what do you think of the price on my site, I'm a big boy you can be honest, I'm not in this to make money, I want to make a GOOD QUALITY PRODUCT THAT WORKS.
Thanks again
Rick
Hey homerbb,
What was the J number on your antenna analyzer ?
I got low SWR numbers also on the one I built with PVC, very similar SWR to what you got, But the inductance and capacitance was WAY OFF.
And I'm sure you understand the importance of inductance / capacitance ( some people call it...
Yea Doc,
Yea, their are thousands of articles all over the web stating the conductive properties of PVC, and I cannot believe I fell for my local mud ducks telling me " hell I use it all the time and mine works ok " Then when I ask them how they measured their performance they said well my buddy...
Thanks for the input CK,
If I was to put those up for sale what do you think a reasonable price would be for the spider only?
also im gonna ad a small piece of round rod to the spider to allow one to use a strong-back to help support the boom if they are going for more than 4 elements.
Thanks captain kilowatt
What do you think a 4 element 10M would be if you had to guess the ohms? and what would you guess the resistance/capacitance to be?
you know the +/- J number
answer. No quads don't have to be a full wave, but you lose ALL of the benifits of a quad has to offer. so if your gonna make it less than a full wave, you might as well stick to a yagi.
I read somewhere that PVC and CPVC pipe has electrical conductivity properties.
the first quad I built, used PVC pipe and could not get it to match, when I switched to fiberglass, i was able to get it perfect.
here is a pic of my quad spider
please let me know what you think, I would like...
