    Astatic Model UG8 D-104 Mic

So this mic is pretty much useless? It's a shame, because it has never even been out of the box.

Good thing I didn't buy it then.

    Channel limits

So obviously the one I saw was illegal. It had two little 3-way toggle switches added on top of the radio and a homemade manual of different set-up combinations to get the extra channels. Thank You!

    Channel limits

How many channels are you legally allowed to have on a CB? I recently seen an old Sears Roadmaster 40 modified to 86 channels.

    Astatic Model UG8 D-104 Mic

I recieved an Astatic Model UG8 D-104 Crystal Microphone that used to belong to my Dad. Anybody know much about these? It's vintage but brand new. "No Ground Plane" system on metal vehicle?

I have an old 1990 Toyota 4X4 Pickup and have plenty of ground plane but last week I bought a Wilson 4' No Ground Plane Fiberglass Antenna Kit (it's the one with the slide SWR adjustment up by the radio connection). Usually these antennas are for fiberglass/non metallic vehicles or those lacking...

    Strange question about SWR's

I have always heard that rolling up excess coax neatly causes an "RF" choke on the signal. I have always zig-zagged excess coax rather than winding it. Good Luck. Check my post on "No Ground Antennas"

Anybody know how to use the old Transel Corp Mark IIA Wattmeter? All I need is the SWR adjusting procedure. Thanks all!
