if you are running mobile ....yer gonna wanna dim them lights :D i have the 490 and agree ....the 497 doesn't quite meet the same wattage but it isn't noticeable ...the stryker audio...well thats noticeable

the stock mic that came with my stryker 490 is surprisingly good ....none of the tin can wind noise background....your voice is your voice ....not a five pin though i have a uniden grant xl with a 5pin rk56 ...sounds good only mic i got w/ that radio though

ok so i have been gone according to my login since june 6, 2009....i got poor sold off my ts 500 and a week later someone decided to jack my radio (stryker 490 [first series]) so i suffered a few days of sick depression followed by weeks of rage everytime i thought about a radio ....dug the...

although its a little late um... any thoughts on a cobra cam 89 i've heard its a decent base rig .. um... little late being i picked one up on the bay for 58.50 incl the 20 for shipping not a bad total i don't guess ... input would be appreciated thanks :thumbup:

i just thought i would share my disappointment with you all i found a lafayette telstat ssb140 base on ebay last night and couldn't help but bid on it ....for those that don't know from previous post i'm an otr truck driver and due to not having a wireless air card i couldn't get to a connection...

ok ... in another thread i asked about the a-h knob in relationship to ssb .... through the knowledge lent we established that they are different frequencies ... with that being said what are those frequencies...do they differ radio to radio? and with the Stryker sr490 not having a freq meter...

well after much deliberation ... and a few more thoughts from my tech the 102" is a no go ... granted it can be mounted but height is a major factor ... after all i don't need to be completing circuits with power lines .... i did however upgrade i guess you could say to a monkey made antenna...
