Default HR2510 display works when voltage 8.5

I am having display issues. The display shows all 8's, LCD's all light up.

I figured out that if I lower the voltage of my pwr supply to about 8.5vdc the display works fine. IC312(?), the 7805 voltage reg, has an output of 10v with normal pwr supply input. And it is about 5v with the pwr turned down to 8.5.

Any ideas?

I am not going to send it away to anyone. I am sure I can fix it but I need some ideas. I have sent emails to Rogerbird but he has not returned them yet, I am sure he is very busy.

I have replaced most of the cap's associated with that 7805 AND the 7808 it's attached to. I have also replaced all the caps on the display board itself.

I guess I really need to figure out why the 7805 does not put out 5 volts like it should. I have replace the 7805 as well.

Default Voltage

Sorry, I did not receive any emails..
Send to me At Rogerbird1@aim.com
or Rogerbird1@hotmail.com

You say the 7805 is putting out 10v? what happens if you lift the output leg? is it still 10v?
remember to measure from the ground tab to the leg, some of the later chassis have isolated the ground on the regulators.

Let me know,

Roger
