I use a old icommarine radio for my base and I want to wire my astatic desk mic to it.

I can't seem to find a place to buy the 8 pin plug/screw.

See pic below, any suggestions. Don't want to cannibalize my hand Mike unless I have to.

If the astatic mic is wired already for a 4 pin cobra radio, you could try one of these.

Those go to 8 pin but not marine type mic connector.

I do have original mic but because they waterproof the the back of plug you can't see the connections. They use some sort of plastic, almost like wax they put inside radios to protect an area or keep you from messing with it.

It's quite cool and water proofs the mic but unfortunately you cant see the pins through it.

Just got this -

Sorry we can not help you...This connector is from Icom only and comes
with the cable.

Guess I'll have to contact icom directly.

Icom wants $60 just for the connector with cord!

$30 for the eBay cord ain't a bad deal I guess :)

Just an update in case anyone is every looking to wire up to a M600. No one sells just the mic plug. Icom sells the microphone wire for $60. Replacement microphones on ebay for $90.

Someone in Taiwan was selling that $30 cord and thats what I bought.

My original mic had the following wires - white, exposed, black, red

New mic cord from taiwan had - yellow, brown, black, red

I wired a 4 pin male to the other end so I can use whatever 4 pin mic I want.

Icom wires = Astatic Wires

yellow = white
brown = blue/shield
black = black
red = red

Wired up no problems and tested with Astatic and Turner mikes.

Also - M600 radios aren't great for tuning for ham use BUT they are 100% duty cycle so pretty burly radios. Also can be expanded to cover 10 and 11 meters.
