I am currently in the process of trying to convert the above said radio. I have the Thomas Publishing CB tune up manuals and I did the conversion exactly as printed in the manual and it did not change anything on the radio. No matter how you position the switches it still has the 40 channels only. Any suggestions?

I have two of these radios, and each has a different way to access the extra channels.

One has a six position switch, and loads of channels. The other one is set up on the nb, and anl buttons, and has less freqs.

This is of no help to you, but you know there are at least two ways to do it now.

Thanks Spike, I have installed two toggle switches on the radio for the conversion. Mainly want the uppers, man I am puzzled.

Thanks guys but I got it done. Had a wire soldered to a wrong pin. DOH, I hate it when that happens. LOL
