Wow, looks cool, but too bad maxes out at 1kW. Anyone get one of these yet to review? I would jump on it if it had 2kW or more capacity, but instead I just keep staring at the pictures and thinking of a way to modify it to a 2kW meter.

By the way, I think its made by Dosy, can someone please confirm?

    Review please

Ok, a lot of you read this post and I see that 5 people took the plunge and ordered one off the bay. Please let us know how is the meter in terms of meter face quality, mechanical quality of the knobs and it its easy to adjust, I'm thinking of getting one too. Price is still steep though especially given that I already have two Dosys.

I saw them on ebay as well. To me it looks like a re-branded Dosy. The blacklight meters are kind of cool but I generally don't operate in the dark.

Redman has some cool stuff but he sure is proud of it.

    No doubt reviews are forthcoming...

Only 4 left, I can't believe no one is waiting for review.

Only 4 left, I can't believe no one is waiting for review before taking plunge. Need to know if meter can be recalibrated to handle 2 kilowatt full scale?

I wish it had an RMS setting

I wish it had an RMS setting, unfortunately it doesn't. It does have a an off setting so perhaps can turn off when modulating, but then I need to know how much the meter can handle pass through with wattmeter turned off. I never owned a Dosy triple meter and all those TC3001 models are 1kW max reading. Kinda dissapointing, especially given that others have 5kW reading meters available although the quality has gotten so cheap with poorly printed meter faces and imported meter movements that the PDC/Astatic and Workman models have. If Redman got the manufacturer to make at least a 2kW model with triple meters, made in U.S. monitor jack, RMS and Peak, etc for about the same price or a little more, I think it would sell faster. I'd take two of them!

Buy a meter that was designed to read 2000 watts peak.

They should use the proper term to measure RF.

    Dosy claim to fame.
Avg Power ( called, in error RMS) , and a capacitor thrown into the circuity that helps hold the meter moment up to some relative number, that is usually, Approx, 2 times the AVG power.
( this is NOT a true peak reading meter)

Over and over and over, it seems it will never end.

    RMSv= .707 * peak to peakv/ 2, ok so what's your point?

Its very well known that non active meters show about 70% of true peak as viewed on waveform. Using the same meter as a way to measure relative power or to compare multiple measurements is what we are doing here.

We are not using a CB meter to publish lab results!

What is so hard to understand about the above statement?

Never mind, you answered it, and still do not get it, You Calculate RMS, you do NOT read it on a Dosy meter.
Dosy has mislabeled the meter and always will, and the myth will live on despite the effort to teach otherwise.

Yes, and they spell light "Lite" for their light switch

Yes, and they spell light, "Lite" for their light switch. The measurement is ballpark, that by accident it might just read average or calculated RMS or true peak depending on charge and decay of capacitors :). Its usefullness as a swinging meter is still nevertheless venerable for a cb meter IMO

There is nothing to get, your point is meaningless, or should I say "irrelevant" as the meter's function is still valid for what it is used for. You can raise your hand and scream that you were abducted by aliens, and it still wouldn't matter for the droves of Dosy users that depend on the RMS measurement that it provides, no matter what you say about RMS and how its calculated and applied in the laboratory or on paper or in the classroom or whatever....

    Dosy is cool

Dosy is cool, with its RMS measure setting and its "Lite" switch. Works for me, and it can work for you!;);)

I like the way this looks

I have 2x DosyTC-4002-PSW, just want to add this to the fold as it looks so cool(y).
