Hi. I bought this antenna last year off of Craigslist L.A. It was taken apart and rebuilt with Penetrox in all the joints. The sheet metal screws replaced with s.s. steel machine screws. The new top tubes are doubled clamped with new s.s. hose clamps. 100' of LMR 400 is used for the feed line. SWR's are almost flat across the 11 meter band. 8g fence pipe is used for the mast. 1 7/8" & 1 5/8". It stands almost 60' tall. This antenna hears good and talks good. Resent skip contacts to Hawaii and Nova Scotia Can. On a bare foot Texas Ranger 696 FD1 radio. Special thanks to the guys at Worldwide Radio Forum forums for making this project a success. Marconi & Sundowner for identification and tune specs. (Thread: Vector 4000 won't even calibrate to set swr). Bob85 for the suggestion for a mast with some flex in it. Bootymonster for suggesting DX Engineering for new tubing. To everyone else that wrote threads about restoring vintage antennas. 73's to all! From: FOUR NINE ZERO Curlyjo Radio!
