959 checks out OK!
The 959 checks out ok. I talked to another cb'er close by on am and it sounds good to him. I just made my first ssb dx contact on 38 LSB(shocked in a good way) It's got plenty of modulation with the stock mic but I hooked up my RF Limited 2018 mic to it. I switched from the stock mic to the 2018 while the close by cb'er compared mics. He liked the 2018 and so do I. The RF Limited 2018 is close in comparison to the RF Limited cr 577 mic which performs like the 575 mic of old. I also had him put a red led(scuffed up to diffuse the light) at the back of the meter that glows when I transmit. The meter's white light stays on but turns a shade of red on tx. I am pleased with DTB's work. Maybe I'll send my Realistic TRC-428 Nine Scan CB and let him breath new life into it!
I got my 959 back today after it being tuned and aligned along with some mods at DTB's up in Pa. The first thing I did was pull the covers off and inspect his workmanship. He did a pretty good job.
