So a friend who recently got his ticket has been plagued with programming & HF antenna problems ever since purchasing his FT-897. Bad G5RV, two bad coax connections in his run, etc... Nightmare. Yesterday he finally put up a basic dipole on a 1:1 balun, gets the feed line sorted out, then gets on the air after 60 days of being limited to VHF/UHF with the rig.

Wouldn't you know it, but he ends up on 28.425 where he gets an earful from "Tango Victor Zulu". "Get off the frequency, you're wasting my time if you're not a 10/10 member..." He's excited that SOMEBODY finally heard him, but goes back to the band plan in his TECH book to see what "10/10" is and to see if he'd violated some kind of rule, then calls me asking what "10/10" is and why he can't use .425 "Do I need to join or buy something to talk on that frequency?"

Way to roll out the welcome wagon there 10/10...

Perhaps the "club" needs to consider who they have on the air "representing" them...

    it's NOT 10-10 International's fault,.... it's ONE operator.

I would send this and any other confirmed info to:

I know it's not their fault. My bad. However a member is trying to "own" a frequency and is kicking people off because they're not members. I doubt that's what 10/10 had in mind.

This has nothing to do with 10-10 intl. , where this asshat banks or who built the rig he's using. He's just another rude lid jackass polluting the airwaves.

This guy should have been given a classic channel 19 truck driver line, "Shut up stupid", then the new ham should have given his call and moved on to a new frequency. Probably would have made that guy feel right at home. Far too many rude people in this world today, especially over the air where they can be a tough guy behind a microphone. Around here on one of the ham frequencys, The locals were discussing things like the price of drugs, and other inappropriate topics for the radio, something they do all the time, and a long time ham came in, told everyone that if this is what the radio has become, then hes ashamed to be part of it, and sold all of his equipment and left the hobby.

If I ever encounter Todd on the air I'll need to restrain myself from asking him if he's Filipino...

...as he certainly puts the "DU" in dumbass.

Happy to report that my "Buddy" got signed up for the worldwidedx club and has been active in the context. He's rackin' 'em up! Good to hear him find some friendlies and a "home" on 10M.

28.455's been rolling with a lot of site member contacts this afternoon. Good to talk to you guys on an "asshat free" frequency.

Good to hear he didnt let one jerkoff ruin it for him. Maybe one of these days I'll catch you guys on the 10 meter band once I get my ticket, until then, I can be found on the cursing and belligerent band hanging out on 27.385 LSB, and 27.555 USB, 319 in St.George, Utah. Until then, cheers and beers!
