Default mic. for yaesu ft-101 zd

I am in need of a mic. for a Yaesu FT-101 ZD. Bought it at a hamfest last week. Anyone have one for sale or know of a mic that I could wire up for this rig? Any help will be appreciated. BTW, I took the exam and got my General Class License KJ4OUD is the call.

Hi Paladin, Congrats on the ham ticket.

Almost any mic will work on almost any radio. Need only look for low vs. high impedance and you're good to go.

I used a Shure 526 T Series II amplified desk mic on the 101ZD that I had. Folks use D 104's on the 101's too.

Good luck...you'll find a mic.

BTW, for WANT items you may want to post this in the Swap Shop forum

If you didn't get it with the rig, you should be able to find the manual for your radio somewhere online as a free download. Do it.

Specific answers to all of your specific questions about the rig will be in there.
