RECEPTION (Refer to Fig. 4)

Fig. 3 Connection of Reception Alignment

1 . Reception Alignment is connected as shown in Fig. 3, initially set conditions of each knob as follows:
       a) Channel Selector Switch 30CH
       b) Mode Switch AM
       c) PA - CB Switch CB
       d) CLARIFIER Center
       e) ON - OFF CW - Max
        f) RF GAIN CW - Max
       g) SO CCW -min.
       h) NB ANL Switch "OFF'
        i) Other knobs Optional

Set level to the unit at 30CH, 1KHz, 30% MOD.

2. First submerge core of the L6 up to bottom.
Adjust L4 L5 L7 L8 L9 L3 L10 L13 L15 to reach peak while adjusting SG output for AF output to reach 2V. Repeat these completely 2 times or more.

3. Next, adjust in the same way L6 to reach its peak. Sensitivity deviation of 1 CH & 40CH at L6 is to be adjusted to obtain within 1 dB. Then, set Mode switch back to 30CH.

4. Set Mode switch to USB, shift SG to 1KHz high & switch "off" MOD. Adjust L12. L14, to reach its peak while adjusting SG output for AF output to obtain 2V.

5. After changing back SG TO 30CH, 1KHz, 30% MOD & unit back to 30CH, rotate SQ fully CW. Set SG 63dB & adjust VR3 for just open squelch. After completing this adjustment, return SO to fully CCW location.

6. Set SG output to 46dB NO MOD at this time. Adjust VR1 to reach "S - 9" which will be displayed from the S-meter. (Adjust S-meter & TX-meter together).

7. Next set Mode switch to "USB" & AF output is to place SG output to 46dB. Adjust VR2 to reach "S-9" as to be shown by S-meter.

8. Set unit at 18CH with SG at 19CH (10KHz high freq.) & set NB ANL switch to NB/ANL. Fix oscilloscope to DC range, connect Probe to TP6 & adjust L1, L2 to obtain max voltage At this time, reduce SG output by the continuous conditions of adjustment & adjust L1. L2, to its peak. At an output level of 10dB. When adjusting, set Mode switch to "LSB".

9. Check all channels of AM, USB, ANL NOISE BLANKER & other such items based on the specifications.

10. Check if any signal tones can be heard from PA SP at PA mode.

11. Operate on PTT according to (10) conditions. Put PA to normal & check if RX-LED was turned "OFF".
