I’m trying to figure right the right spot to measure SWR

my setup is:

- Firestick 4’ Mounted to my wrangler JKU tailgate. Ground straps to chassis.
- cobra 75 radio, grounded to chassis.
- RM Italy KL35 amp grounded to chassis.
- RM Italy 27/586 low pass filter.

connections / signal flow are :

cobra 75 —> rm Italy amp —> low pass filter —> firestick antenna.

I've got an exceptionally clean Astatic lolipop D-104 on the normal TUG-8 base. It's an older one, is unamplified, and the date under the baseplate is 1965. I really like the looks, and the height is right for use at the desk. But I understand that the old condenser mics degrade over time, and that their impedance is a poor match to my Yaesu FT857D.

With a Sonar 2340, non amplified high Z d104, Demco modulator and and 500 (pep) watts (iMAX 2000 8' off the ground) on AM i made contact with Oley Pennsylvania. Approximately 80 miles from my QTH.

Way overpriced,pretty makes me think of those fine old couier cb radios that were really nicely chrome plated.

So now the radio does not transmit. It does but only a few feet to the other radio. It receives great. So I understand they are cheapie radios but I kinda like this one. Here are some pics of the radio.

I spoke into the mic of the Cobra 29ltd with the antenna switch selected for my Galaxy dx 949. I know, I know. Lesson learned. I'm totally disappointed, this was my favorite radio.
