is it correct for me to assume the chimney has been removed in these pics? I hope it has one

The compartment you see with the coil, caps and tube is sealed with 14 screws, the blower motor is directly below the tube and forces air across the tube from below through the holes pictured, the exhaust holes are on the upper lid and it has a small white teflon ring screwed to it which drops down around the tube when the lid is installed.
