Very true and acurate statements..But for the OP's aplication, I think it would
be a mistake to use it. (LMR-400)
Using LDF4 and running jumpers is good for a killer big VHF system with long
runs and all, and I'm sure you use the best connectors available.

Isn't LMR-400 copper coated aluminum for the center conductor? I've not used
it and won't...Several friends of mine have had it break on them.
On the other hand I use LMR-400/UF on everything here and really like it...The
specs are very close

My favorite was my Cobra 23ch 135. Real wood cabinet and all. Back then
the clarifier moved TX and RX right out of the box.
Everything went through one X-tal so it was easy to make more channels
by swapping in other x-tals with a transistor switch setup. If I remember...

Well.. our local repeater does work that way....as soon as the the courtesy tone sounds, the other operator can pick it up..otherwise it WILL time out.
Believe me I've done it many times...LOL
