I got the single mosfet final that does not require replacing the pre driver. My kit was sent for a 29 cobra. So the complimintry circuit is not the right one. resistors diode and disk cap.

does anyone have the instructions for the 66 as well as the tune up.

thanks

thanks ...I got it going but it is not putting out like it should....on bird. It went from two watts to four watts dead key....lol. at 12.5 volts.

I understand this final likes voltage.....I have taken out the slug on l 10 and turned the modulation up.....not tried it on dosey yet. spread the coils and played with them.....soldered two 68 caps on back of main board..where cb tricks says to. one helped and two was better.

any help on more power from this radio.....i am installing talkback and echo from rf limited. that will give me a little more modulation. of course I dont know yet how much it swings....still on byrd.

thank you thank you thank you thank you ....etc

ok ...has anyone used other components than the chip that matches up with the 2030. I used the 2030 and at r40 used a resistor and diode in series and another resistor in parallel.

if I get it going good I will post it.

many thanks davis

For the cap between the driver and the final where they say to put the 68, I use anywhere from 150 to 330 depending on results I see. I also remove the cap that goes from the input of the final's input resistor to ground. As for the other 68 cap, I rarely use that high. Sometimes I see best results form no cap there. Play with that value, and with a cap across the static-bleed resistor which goes from the antenna connector to ground (usually a 1k-ohm 1-watt unit)
