a99

Well, I still have the whip on top, but I did cut It to 72". I probably should have cut it only to 78" and It would have been perfect to where I adjusted the rings. I read somewhere that the fiberglass whip antennas are only 96" being the electrical quarter wavelength of copper and because the 102"whip is stainless steel that is why It's 102". That why the logic of 78" instead of 72". My SWR is flat on channel 40 and 1.25 on channel 1. Some of the other problems turned out to be jump related. Still the antenna is a little short, but it's great for 10M.

I'm working California on 10watts. On channel 17. 27.1650 Mhz With this setup. Of course great conditions help.

a99 with a 72" whip and 4 102" whips for a ground plane at 35' at the bottom of the antenna.

654 Albuquerque. NM. back quiet.
