My neighbour said I can have this antenna, but neither of us know what it is for. Is this a CB antenna?

I get the feeling it is for TV, but there's always a chance.

Thanks.

Never seen one first hand, but would have to guess from it's general dimensions that it's a UHF antenna of some sort, 800 Mhz - 2.8 Ghz range, wireless cable kind'a thingy?

Yes, it's an antenna for "cable TV" that is broadcast within local areas. Most likely well above 800 mhz. I've seen hundreds of them in neighborhoods around a big city in the SE and wondered what they were myself until I found out. The broadcast format saves the cable co. tons of money not having to run cable wire all over the place. I would say it's nearly useless for anything else.

Its a wireless panel antenna somewhere between 800 and 2400 MHz. It is directional and pointed at the source.

If it is tuned to the 2400MHz range, it can be reused for wireless Internet with most wireless routers.
