TORONTO ONT. CA.
Howdy folks.
Just scored myself a staight 8 pill Fatboy.
Wondering if #4 avg wire is enough for full potential?
100 amp fuse at battery should work??
Will be driving this with my Galaxy 99 for now, but I have a old T.S. Skeleton 2x2290's in it that will be driving it soon.
Any thoughts or comments.

Thanks--Crazytrain

it will untill you put the driver in then you will need to up grade the wire and the fuse alt, more batterys .........good luck

your right on the edge with a 100 amp fuse ......like tony said when you add the driver you will need to upgrade.figure 15 amps per pill.....i run a 2by8 on a 150 amp anl fuse....been awhile since i looked but i think its a 150 ..or maybe 175 tops.been running that on 4 gauge for near 4 years.....i could actually use heavier wire myself .just been lazy about upgrading it .

id figgure 10 amps per 100 watts you expect to get from the amp . #4 should be fine for several feet or less . 10 or more feet id go to #2 . id do a 200 amp fuse . and dont forget you have to also have power to feed the kicker amp and the rest of the vehicle . what size alternator do you have now ? how many batteries are you gonna run ? have you got a antenna/coax system that

peak current draw for 8X2SC2879's is 160A.. a properly aligned GDX99V produces more than enough output to drive 8X2SC2879's to full rated power output. the use of an additional amp to "drive" the 8X2SC2979's will exceed the input rating for these devices.

my bad jack , didnt pay attention to the radio being high powered . just figgured since it was class C it would need a driver . what it needs is a bias .

Appreciate the comments. This being my first venture beyond a 4 pill I'm gonna run it off my 99. Might be getting in over my head adding a driver.
Now I got two scenarios here I could go.
My Pete has a 180 amp alternator 4 inline battery's.
I could add another batt under bunk inline with the other 4. thus about 3 feet of 4 gauge to positive and ground. 150? amp fuse.
Or run power to 4th battery (furthest away from alternator), ground to seatbelt bolt (about 1 foot).
Coax. I'm using mini-8 coax to a Predator 10K. Will it be sufficient for 1000 watts?
Again. Thanks for the replys and comments.
I trying not to rush into just slapping this all together, but man, I sure am getting excited over this project.

The truth

Been reading the reply's. The facts are this, A 8 pill fatboy can be driving by and up to a 3pill 1 2290x2 2879's. The box can handle a 100 dead key and a 500 watt swing peep watts. I have a 2x6 in my pete. I am running a connex 3300 hp. keying 500 swinging 1200. I also have a smaller alternator 135. A galaxy 99 high powered or not won't drive that amp correctly. Need at least a 2pill. or more. can help you more if ya want.
