Hi. I've just picked up a b300 for a pittance and repaired it. I have a query ; What class amp is it? I think it's a class c but with some feedback from collector to base. I ask, as i had a Zetagi b150 that just didn't sound at all well on ssb due to it being class c which is only suitable for am/fm. My main aim is to use it on ssb in the hope that it sounds significantly better than the b150 variant. Here is the schematic - http://www.cbtricks.com/Amp/zetagi/b300p/graphics/zetagi_ b300p_sch.pdf. Opinions if you would please. Regards.

damo666,
b300's are crude class AB, they usually sound ok on ssb, the b150 is class c and sounds distorted.

Hi Bob85. Thanks very much indeed for the reply. I noticed the schematic was somewhat different than the b150, and that's good. On this note i look forward to getting myself another ssb transceiver in the hope that my audio is now decipherable. Cheers and best regards.
