Dammit boy I love Icoms. Rassin' frassin' economy. Thought it best to sell my IC 746 after the factory layoff. Bummer.

Looks great HH !!

Back a few years ago I had a 2nd 746 (tabletop HF+6+2) and I had it in my pickup. Yep sure did. GM 1500 pickup with auto tranny so there's the big empty space over the tranny hump in the front. Icom doesn't make a mobile mount for the 746, it's so big I guess they figured no one would want to take it mobile. But I did heck yeah. So I discovered that it fit perfectly right inside the open end of a plastic milk crate. Cut the top, actually a side, off the crate so it matched the height of the radio, and then fabricated a couple of metal strip brackets & screwed the whole nutbox to the outside of the front of the center console unit between the two captain's chairs. Looked like straight shit boys....but I was cruisin' in style with a honkin' Icom 746 for a mobile. 100 watts all mode, all bands, internal tuner.....those were the days.

Congrats HH, you enjoy that thang now ya hear ? !!!!
