armadillo amps?

thank you fnkycoldmedina! just curious if they were still going!! you dont here much of/or about them now a days!!! they were ment to be good i think!! 73s.

Stay away from a guy in Ga called Showtime he claimed to be making those amps. The maker of Armadillo Amps is Bowevil if I'm not mistaken and I also believe Black Velvet does some work for him.

You are right on 711, Shometime did infact work for him but no longer does and now he spends his time taking peoples money. I have not heard much about Showtime or seen him around sense the last big scam he did with a lot of guy's on the Forums around, so maybe I would say someone caught up to his ass and either broke all his fingers so he can't take anyones money again or use a key board anymore to type. Either that or put a cap between his eyes as I would almost go with both of those thoughts and feel good about it being true as everyday there these Crack heads that get a cap between their eyes for a lot less for ripping people off and what showtime got from others you would have to get that shit at a bank. So be aware he is a good Con Man if he is around.

Cotton Mouth.

I would like to say hello to everyone here and i believe i have found a good home for great dxing info and friends. I am gettin ready to purchase a rci2950dx since im trading in my ol 1999-2000 connex 3300hp ( mike inserts on the right side of rig ) I read the thread on good radio shops like DTB Radio or Bob's cb in Pa. and
Doug at Custom CB. Hope to get this rci rig set up in my semi-truck. I run from
Springfield Mo. to Pittsburgh Pa. or to Lexington Ky. Hope to hear from some of the members. Thank you all and have a great day.
Merry Christmas

I have a 2x4 Armadillo here, had it about 12 years, no issues. The guys name was Larry Jernigan, phone was 706-863-9396,he was an old timer, don't know if he is still around or not but you could give it a try.

I'd like to add, that Armadillo usually rates their stuff @ 20v+..

I did have a 2x2879 Armadillo base amp, and that joker had a high/low switch. On high, I shit you not it did 19v-20v under load and would do like 300 bird watts driving it with a dual final radio. On low it would do like 14-15v. I realize that some of the 300 bird was likely harmonics from the volts, but it was still a pretty sweet little box. I wish I hadn't have gotten rid of it. I never saw anybody make the high/low switch change the voltage like that, it was sort of interesting. Most people reported a difference as well. Believe it or not, I talked on it like that for years. I sold it to someone else on one of the message boards.

He is still in the business, because he has done a few modifications to some boxes here locally.
