It happened when I tried to program the talkie. I was re-programming the software, I swichted off and when I turned on again the screen was as in the photo I posted before. Now, it is in the same situation.
I tried to conect with the PC and it does not conect. I suposse to activate it it will be necessary to reflash the unit. I have been surfing the net for some solutions and I find nothing.

GEEZE THATS CRAZY!!! All because you just wanted to program it which shouldnt cause this to begin with!! You dont have a warranty on it?? Or can you contact the seller you bought it from??
I actually had this happen with an MP3 player last year I plugged it into the USB port like I always did do add or delete music and charge the internal battery and it went bazerk one night and it was locked up as you HT is I couldnt get it to do anything I even took it apart still nothing I said well thats it for that thing!!
I had left it alone for a few days and then plugged it back in for the heck of it well it fired right up as if nothing ever happened weird I tell you just weird.

I have "bricked" a Magellan GPS, did something wrong when trying to update it (selected the wrong menu).
And of course Magellan just sez to go buy another one.

The firmware cannot be "flashed" it is a "write once" chip. I had one where my display contrast went to nothing... you can see the display.. if you look at it at the right angle, under right light conditions.
I bought another. Mine does what your does sometimes.. but if I turn it off, then on again, it is okay.
Too bad the software has some "bugs" that seem to be permanent.
Dead radio fix that worked for me
Mine did the same thing and was a brick. I opened the programing program and went new with no freqs added. I plugged in the radio, turned it on (even though it was blank) and downloaded the blank program. Surprise the radio came back to life. Next I just started over and reprogrammed it with the freqs and settings I wanted.
You may want to try that before throwing it away.
