Hi Everyone,
I have a question about a Browning S23-R27. I have a set with what appears to be original chrome covers. Have you ever seen one of these or know anything about them? It doesn't look like the covers were dipped. They look factory. I find no flaws like there would be if they had been dipped and they all have cutouts and identical features as the brown covers. The radios also have little Browning name plates on the front of them too.
I've have seen a lot of these radios but none that have this chrome cover.
Could they have been something special? Example, they made like 500 gold cobras for gifts for shops that sold huge amounts of cobras. I was wondering if this could be something like that.
Any info would be greatly appreciated!

I have a set also. But, not chromed. I don't think they would be factory chromed though. I saw a set that some jerk had powder coated. YUK!

r27 s23 chrome

i have a chrome plated r27 s23 browning, bought it from a friend approx 2 months ago, my transmitter just died, found this while looking for a schematic.
there are vent holes in the sides that look hand drilled but were drilled before plating, other then that it looks like a factory chrome job, it is old chrome, this is the only browning i have looked at closely so i dont know for sure if it is factory or not.
