Hi everyone,

I picked up these two radios today....dont know alot about these old tube types.
My questions are;
When I hook up the IV I get a bad feedback through the speaker, but the radio set seems to be "working" as everything lights up. Any explanations on this?
And also the III transmitter fired right up, but cant get any power on the receiver. Checked fuse on the back and it was good, i even swapped it out with a new one. Both were interconnected together. Any explanations on this??
Thanks TB.

Thats part of the Brownings trademark,the ping{feadback}through the speaker...there is a tech i think in Alab or Ga. that works on Browning Tram only radios...73s de JW

No, im talking about just as it sits turned on its a hummmming coming through the speaker. Not on TX its on the RX. It does it at the same level regardless of the volume knob position. Anyways thanks for the referal to the radio shop though!

Well i was thinking and hoping ground problems also. It has a wire from the frame of reciever but isint connected to the transmitter. I tried touching it to the transmitter and it didnt seem to help any.
Anyways thanks for the help guys, check out the mark IV on ebay if interested! I've got 4 more browning radios, a couple stock mics w/out the stands, and a maco vfo tuner soon to be on there too.
Again, thanks guys!
TB
