Is this 14V Palomar the highest output FET amp out there?

I believe this is rated at 700W.

Does anyone know of anyone working on a higher powered FET amp?

Thanks.

most mosfets will tolerate 50 volts or more but the other components also have to tolerate that same voltage.

That's why they have to run a bucket of MOSFETS to make a kilowatt at 12 volts. That's like running a dozen sweep tubes at 600-700 volts to make similar power when all you have to do is ramp up the voltage and use a pair meant for the desired power output.

Sorry for any confusion. My fault for not writing up the subject line correctly.

I thought mobile voltage of 13.8 was nearer 14 than 12, however I hear where you're coming from.

OK, let's try this again.

From a '14 volt' rail do you think you'd see more out of say 16 X 2979's as against 16 of those 100W ERF FET's taking into consideration one would probably need a higher drive level for the latter.

I'm wondering if the FET's have the same or higher output at this voltage than the bi-polars once they're all combined?
