was tring different locations on roof i got it about
22 inches from rear. if i go any father back ill need to move
the luggage racck bar which isnt any biggie .but ill also
need a ladder as i cant reach any further back .im standind
on driversside door jam by siding rear door.my back bumper
is plastic so kinda afraid to stand on it do u guys think
i should get a small a frame ladder and move that arm and put it back even more
swr is good at 1.2.1 and 1.3.1
 

well that swr sounds good ...

If and when you run power I would suggest checking swr again just to make sure it's still good.
 
I have never heard of any getting a monkeymade swr under 1.3 or 1.2 you get it to 1.2 just leave it alone you might make it worse
 
its actually just a 1.2 .1 on ch. 40 and about a 1.4 on ch.1
the whip doesnt seem to wanna pull out so im just moving the magnet
around seeing were i get the best results.which is why i made the post
i dont wanna make it too directional i was wondering how far to go back
on the roof ,and how far is too far
 
im a picky tech! i wanna see perfection! but, to tell the truth, thats a fine swe. i have, on countless occasions, seen a 1.0:1 swr on any monkey made ant. but its more than safely operable the way it is.
 
strange the more i tried for center thehigher the swr went. unfortantlely
im all the wayback by the luggage rack bar that runs horizonal across the roof. tried to move it doesnt seem to wanna move.anyone here with a van or large suvs
i can share installs with?
