Found this on Flea bay today.
16 ERF 7530`s

It is Listed as "new" and it looks like it has already been rebuilt a few times.... it has seen some heat ( look at the melt marks on some of the wiring) and i think the wire/copper strips that are tacked on to the PC boards are holding the heat sinks together...... it just looks sloppy.
Why is it that these guys can not put a grommet/cord connector or even a Strain Relief Connector on a Amp where the power wires come in?
Ugh
It is doing some output but man it looks rough for a new amp.
I really think it is a "Used Amp"

The efficiency is horrible, if it needs 300A at 20V, that would be 6kw.
For 1kw out? that would be 16% efficiency.
ok, if its 2500w pep then you still dont have more than 40%.

Those new pills from NXP or freescale are at least 70% efficient.

Ebay crap that looks scratched up and soldered by chimpanzees. 10 bids so far, probably friends or other accounts by the seller.......or maybe really ignorant people.

I was always under the impression that on a larger amp like the one pictured, every capacitor must be checked and they should all be extremely close in value to all the other tuning caps.
The resistor you pointed out definately indicates a mismatch to some degree.
Someone needs to explain "New" to the seller.

He has the cover off, all that would be inside it.
If you look at the resistors on combiner above the one Mac circled, it looks like it has seen imbalance as well and suffered from heat....or they are very dirty...and it sure looks like the boards the amp was built on were salvaged from some other project, parts removed..???
Well some one bought it, and the pictures were there for the buyer to see.
I am amazed at the stuff that sells on E bay.

If I showed up at a CB break with a 16 pill like that.......I would be the brunt of jokes for years.
The sad thing is that someone spent a bunch time and effort building that thing. He would have been better off doing a full restoration of a 1974 Chevy Vega.....sleeveless aluminum block and all.

beauty is usually in the eye of the beholder ...... sometimes its in the eye of the uninformed . remember that crappy azz lookin base amp zman made with the butchered copper board and the case butchered and bent with hammers ? some folks on another forum were very impressed with it . but ,thats what happens when a forum protects its sponsors .
