I've been using the DLS-55 IOTA switcher for about 3 years with no issues.

1.8 to 30 mhz.

Used both styles and I would answer yes but it depends on brand and cost.

Always chose a quality brand and don't mind paying a few more $ for that quality.

the iota 55 mack mentioned will nicely power that .

drive that 225 easy

My experience is the the switchers can be less expensive for the same capacity, but you have to watch out for the cheap ones. Go with a name brand like Astron, Alinco, etc., and you have better chances.

I've had an Astron SS-25M for several years, and am very happy with it. I would buy another Astron when I'm in the market. I have been thinking about their 30 amp version, the SS-30M. For about $150 retail it seems like a good deal.

Go with astron,diamond,any of the name brand...not phase three...they are known to go 2 trimes voltage when they go out and send 24 volts into whatever you are running...73 JW

Consider the Diamond GZV4000 switcher.
Takes 40 amp peaks and 30 continious.
Has a lighted meter to see either voltage or current.
Voltage out is adjustable 5 to 15 volts.
Front panel 6 amp terminals and car type 10 amp outlet for utility uses and rear binding posts for high current application..
Fan cooled.
Instant shutdown on a short without big current draw.
The rateing for continious use is 15v X 30a = 450 watts DC.
Peak is 15 x 40 = 600 watts.
