Cobra 29 lx problems

I've got a cobra 29 lx that's not transmitting properly. Voltages check out good and I can hear the signal on a second radio placed near by, but it isn't putting out any power. I've already tried changing out tr14,tr15 and tr16 with no luck. The radio still receives like a champ. Can anyone give me any pointers as to where to look next?

The mic works. No deadkey and no swing on my radio shack power meter. As I mentioned, I've checked voltages in the tx section and they seem to be right.

Not only are my CBs not working, my PC is now smoking!!!! ;-)

I know this is an old post but I have the exact same problem on one radio and a similar problem on a second radio. First radio is a 29LTD and second is a 29LX

Did you ever get yours up and transmitting??

The radio with this exact same problem does not produce the 27MHz frequency, or any frequency for that matter around L17 but has correct voltages on TR16, TR15, &TR14.

The second radio produces the correct channel frequency at L17 but does not have the correct voltages.

I have searched and re-searched the internet until my computer started to smoke and no solid theory as to what may be the problem.

On the unit that does not have the correct voltage, I have tried swapping out the driver and the final but no result.

Anyone with a similar problem who can please provide some advice?? Please??

does the pa work, is the TX and RX light changing when you key the radio. if all of these work you can start by checking the caps at the audio chip. C48 is a well known problem with the 29 radios. it is at the audio chip also. also does the meter on the radio move when you RX and TX.
