I just got a very nice silver eagle plus mic. The mic sounds great and the beep works but i cant get the vox to work. Does anybody know anything about these mic's maybe i'm missing something obvious, or maybe it just don't work. I searched the net but couldn't find much. Any help would be much appreciated.

Is there and adjustment screw for the VOX on the bottom - or inside the base if you take the plate off? Every VOX unit I've ever seen is adjustable and they would probably HAVE to be adjustable.

Never had one of these models but there must be some instructions somewhere. Maybe a web search.

I wonder if you have to lock the grab bar ON with the slide ring and then use the VOX to turn the mic on an off ??

Hope you find out what the deal is. Let us know !

the manual says to use vox you must push the slide clamp to the top .

Ive got alot oif D104 microphonesd and Ive honestly never seen a plus model that is definately cool!! I dont use D104 desk mics but I use to and loved them Im eventually gonna list of a bunch of mine here on the site but have to pic 2 or 3 that I want to keep here in the collection.

Is that plus model like the roger K version? Ide like to get a k version with the internal roger beeps. Can you snap a pic of yours with also a pic of the bottom or switches if you get time? Ive got a bunch of different Astatic Microphones base and mobile amplified and un amplified some actually still in boxes not even wired up for anything.

Ive got one of those Astatic Echomax mics aswell but it needs to be wired up as someone took the goofy socket out of the back and never finished what they started. That mic also seems kind of neat aswell.

I'm starting to think the vox feature is for radio's that have vox built in. I thought that i could plug it into a cobra or galaxy, flip the vox switch and it would work. I could try it on my kenwood or yaesu but i dont want to rewire it. wish i could find an owners Manuel for it so i would know for sure.

more than likely you need a radio that does vox as well.

i was needing a switch for one of those, d104, it a small micro switch for keying, it got the rb,20db,vox ,, on the bottom, thoses switchs are ok, the spring wore out, in the keying switch,

if anybody know where i can find one, looked yesterday , in chin, an japan.

Does anyone know where to find a schematic for the Silver Eagle Plus D104? I have one of these that will key up but I don't get any audio out of the microphone and could use a schematic to troubleshoot. I have already verified the element is working.

Thanks!

Did you find out about this I have one I am trying to figure out why the base PTT does not engage.

The beep works but not sure VOX is and not my thing I like keying it.

The Vox feature only works on radios that have Vox. Vox = Voice Activated Switching.
They are still good mics. I run mine on my Cobra 2000, no Vox switching, but it works great in normal mode. It also has a 20db switch that cuts the modulation to almost nothing, not sure where/when that would be used.
But it does have a nice built in single roger beep that goes off at the end of your transmission, also switchable. Standard MC320 cartridge, like all d-104 models. Good microphone, I love mine.. I have no schematic for it and it works good, that's all I know. Vox may require wiring the mic for your specific radio.. Depending on the number of pins for your radio.
I just re-felted the bottom plate on mine and it slides nice..
