Anyone make a 75 meter am xcvr..single bander, I know some of the guys make single banders for ssb, and the retro 75 has been discontinued.
Just curious.

Look up K7DYY, Bruce makes a 75,160
Solid state AM transmitter. It sounds really good. You have to use a separate receiver. There may be others that are commercially available, most are home brew.

AM on 75 meters is boring, boring, boring, boring... All those guys ever talk about is how wonderful their gear is and how old it is... They never want to talk about stuff like anything other than radio gear, YAWN!!!!
I tried AM 75 once and i very quickly lost interest...............

You must be looking on the wrong frequencies. Stay away from 3885 if you are looking for something better. We have a Maritime AM net here Sunday mornings on 3735 AM. Great bunch of OT's. Look outside the "normal" AM freqs.

I find plenty that talk about more than just gear on 40, 75, 160
Right time of the day with the right people, a conversation is what you make it.

If you hear me on give me a shout. I just came off there, real short tonight, tired.
I get on 7290 and 95 during the mornings and some afternoons as well.
