6lq6 Tube's

I think I'd pass on buying any replacement sweep tubes today. The last production runs were horrendously poor quality and typically sell for way more than the amp is worth anyhow.

There is no best place because that tube has been our of production for over 30 years now. Try eBay. If you can find some in good shape be prepared to pay a lot of money for them. Then they don't last very long in rf amplifiers because they were not designed for that type of duty.

Back in the day I remember paying about $4 each for them at Rat Shack. Used in questionable condition on eBay they are going for $25+. One new old stock 6LQ6's are selling for $70+. I saw a matched set of 4 going to $239.00.

NOS 6LQ6 tubes on ebay can be pricey when you can find them. Used tubes are cheaper.

If you have an amp that uses these tubes and want to keep it, consider having it converted to use 24LQ6 or 31LQ6 tubes. Electrically they are the same except for the higher heater voltage. The 24s and 31s are a lot cheaper and more available because although they were made in great quantities, few if any sweep tube amps used them originally.

6lq6 tubes are NOT a bargain at any price.. The reason they are so overpriced is because the CBers pretty much gobbled them up and set the price to where they are now..

yes

yes its for sale with the tubes 2 sets of nos tubes.
i think 250 is a fair price. i way over paid for the radio.
