It looks like a nice radio. I got my eyes set on the CRE-8900. The software disc that you can set parameters on the radio with are cool! I posted a YouTube link by CBRadioMagazine on that.

if you need a small radio for the mobile unit it would be worth it,, but if your going to use it at home you might as well save the $100 and get the at-5555 for $199, same radio just a little bigger case

mighty mouse size

Yea. It would go in a mini suv I have. I could make a bracket and mount it between the sun visors and have a black dust cover to cover it. I thought about putting my 959 there, nope!. The only other place would be to stick it below my single Din size radio that I have in a double Din hole. Of course the Alpine center channel speaker would have to come out. (y)

you guys go on and on for no reason. The Anytone 5555 and the CRE 8900 have the same recieve and transmit stuff just the 8900 board is smaller. It's a no brainer if you have the room the buy the Anytone if space is an issue the the CRE is the deal, same radio same recieve and transmit so if the opening is a problem spend 80 dollars more for the CRE for me the Anytone is the real deal at 199. Like I've said before it sure is no Yeticom Optima but for the money it is a great radio at a great price.:bdh:

Agree!!(y)

huh?

I'm sure that the 5555 is a great radio. It's just that I and M42Duster want to see some side by side real world figures on these two radios. I am wanting something as small as the 8900. Also,I'm in the information gathering mode as I do with any project I do. Plus,I just found out about the 8900 and the 5555 recently and am thinking about moving from the CB band(eek!) To the Amateur band. P.S. Where did you buy your 5555 from? I haven't ruled out the possibility of buying a 5555. Thanks for the info!<More audio>

I understand you are excited about your Anytone purchase and your cost savings. You also seem to chide those that don't heed your advice. It's my money, I'll spend it how I like. I still want to see the specs. Do you have a link? If not, then...well! I'm at work, so can't look yet.

If I, or others want to go on and on, so be it.

Also, the Alinco branding intrigues me as well. I'd like to see if there's any spec differences. Likely, there are.
