Ok guys...Educate me on which set up you would use and why...Thanks.

Option #1
I bought this antenna a while back (can't remember from who) but have no clue to when it was made.

It measures 48" in length and has a 3 1/2" spring on the bottom.
The whip comes out the top of the antenna.
Does anyone know when this was made and it it any good as far as mobile antennas go.

I am thinking of installing this antenna on my 70 Chevy truck or the Hustler antenna shown below.

Is one a better set up or they both about the same? Thanks

Option #2

Lets see this truck. Do you want a period correct antenna on it?

1970 C10 CST with Factory 402BB I would like a 70-80's period correct antenna. 99% of the people will have no idea if the antenna is period correct

My Dad ran those little Hustler gutter mounts, and they actually worked OK. Personally, I would do dual mirror mounted Francis fiberglass whips.

Beauty of a truck, btw. Dad had a long bed 72 IIRC with the nice trim package, slider rear window, 8 track, and the 402. It was blue with white down the sides. I really like your dark green/light green color combo.

Shouldn't there be a GM 6-71 sticking out of the hood at some point here?!

Here is a "GM 6-71" blower

These where normally found on the old detroit diesels in the day and converted to gas engines. The 6-71's where on the 6 cyl engines and the 12-71's was on the v/8's

There maybe enough room under the hood of that CST to fit one with out cutting the hood.. I know they fit under hood of a 60-66 style with room to spare

Watch 'Mad Max' there's a thrill I get watching the car Mel Gibson drives near the end of the movie. You gotta watch it!
