First DX on LSB

No external amp is barefoot in my book regardless of power output

That is a good contact (y)

and Hayseed is right ,better watch it or you will be getting the " I need more contacts on SSB " bug

You will be really surprised at the contacts you will be making .There is no reason you cant work the world on SSB and 45 watts ..

(y) Go get em while the getting is good !! (y)

an amplifier is a good thing, especially when trying to talk without propagation. Around here there is a few other high powered stations on SSB I can talk to, typically over 40 miles, and thats when I run mobile. The other, "barefoot" stations wish they could talk to me, but just dont have the power to break the laws of physics and talk beyond the visual horizon........Yes you can do that with SSB, dont let some yahoo technician class ham tell you otherwise about blablabla your still limited by the horizon.

Just hollered out a CQ on 38LSB and talked to 639 in Michigan, he said I sounded loud and clear, and he did too. Didn't last but for a minute though and he faded out.
This is pretty cool.

Magnum S-9 ??? on ssb
i didnt think you could run a export on ssb
and how is 45 watts considered barefoot?

At first I thought you were just kidding around. There are many Export radio's that have SSB. Magnum S9, Delta Force, Omega Force, 257, RCI 2950, RCI 2970, Galaxy 88,99,93,94,98.95, the list goes on and on. Any "barefoot" export radio like a 2950 or Magnum S9 have been in the 35-45 watt range for 10 years now.
