maxlog m-8900

the maxlog m8800 is the only SSB radio of the 6-7 that I have tried in the mobile, that I can go out to at -20*f on a Wisconsin winter morning and turn it on and be ready to go , on freq , same now that its over 80*f and a heat soaked vehicle, always right on freq. no messin with the clarifier.

im looking forward to trying the at-6666 or the maxlog 8900 , maybe both,, the new president looks interesting also. but for the mobile if I have to babysit the clarifier its not happening

Camaro1 funny you say that, here in NJ it does get cold in the winter, I have an anytone 5555 in my truck and after about a minute it works fine without touching anything cold or hot but not dead on at -20 or 95+. I have to go maybe .05 one way or another like for 27,395 I have to go to 39450 on a day below 20 degrees but within a minute it is dead on 39500. I will say one of the best I ever used on a cold day

Things are moving along. News of a V7 and 8900 "Multi" For EU and watch this space for more information. Will or maybe will come 5 bands and not just the 1.10m and 2. export we know now

My prototype has passed customs and is with the delivery courier at the moment. Further information from Wednesday is this:

* Programming software not finished yet, written Java has taken 2 months
* 4 Banded options on this demo piece with 40 channels per band
* 24-30 MHz
* 15w FM
* 25w SSB
* 6 Pin Mike at the back of radio ( on a cable )

There is going to be a multi-EU version with all the legal norms and possible programming of 1920 separate channels.

The radio I have been sent is the BETA version V7

Good for you!
Most radios I've seen with SMT have a lower PEP on SSB than on AM. This radio has something else going on here?

The first few videos are there, not much as am at the doctors.

AM is peaked at 90% modulation and makes around 22w on the bird. The receive is nice, sound is warm and rich but the standard mike needs something, maybe electret element inside.

I do more when I get home on the video front, but lowest it goes is indeed now 24500
