Hey guys i need some input on a mounting option for my truck. I have a 2006 Ford F-150 and in am wanting to put this bracket

The question is do you think i will have enough room. I think i do but i am fighting back and fourth with myself if I do.

just my opinion here, if I was going to mount it on the floor where you are going to drill holes, I would buy one of the workman brackets for the radio that has an adjustable stand on it with a braket for the radio you are going to use. the bracket could be mounted close to the seat and it will swivel around so you could mke sure it will be so you can tilt the radio out of the way and get it so you can see the face of the radio.
here is a link to one so you can see what I am talking about. I had one in a old ford pickup years ago and it worked great. it lets you get the radio high enough so you can see it also.

i think you,d have enough room. id pull back the carpet a bit and check that area for
any wires.second you might be able to mount it under the dash cant tell from the pid
though.third you can get a floor mount console w/ built in speaker an cup holder.
theres some good options with a truck

Thanks for getting back with my guys. Sadly the General HP40 is such a big radio it doesn't fit under the dash in my truck. I have gone with a swivel hump mount with the bracket i have pictured on top of the mount. At the moment it looks like it should fit.

This is how I had my radio mounted in a 99 Tahoe. I made the bracket from some stock and bolted directly to the hump. Supported several different radios over a period of 8 years.

Just looking at the bracket you want to use, it doesn't seem like it would be 'tall' enough to make the radio 'face' you. I'm sure you could make some sort of supporting structure, what/how just depends on your imagination and 'handi-ness'. Making it 'look' good is a different animal, just depends on your imagination also.
Not much help. huh?

I ran one of these saw tooth mounts with TWO radios on it (Magnum 257 on bottom & Yeasu 8800 on top) for a while and it worked well. Even though it's not screwed/bolted down, the radios didn't move. Even off road...

There's enough of an upward angle on it that everything fit just fine, even with the seat all the way forward. It also made it a snap to pull the radios out if I had to leave the truck unattended in a bad area.
