Oh, I've never been to Canada, it's just too far north. Spent 4 or 5 days in Wisconsin once, in August, almost froze to death...

If you have never been on a fishing trip to Canada you need to go.....all you need is a truck load of beer and soon a truck load of horny Indian women will show up....at least that is how it was back in the day...ha ha :D

Wausau Wisconsin is further north than I am. :D

A lot of people's geography gets messed up east of the Great Lakes. Even though I'm looking at a map - or several maps - I can't get my mind around the fact that Portland, Oregon is just about exactly one full degree NORTH of Portland, Maine (depending on just where within each city you're basing the coordinates).

Before I visited Maine on my last Naval Reserve training stint, I thought of New England as being "North", and Maine as being the Northest you could get on the East Coast.

Bangor Maine is 44.8 degrees north. I am in west-central Nova Scotia and I live about a mile north of 45 degrees, halfway between the equator and the north pole. There is a sign along the highway stating that going into the town of Windsor. West of the Great Lakes the border is basically the 49th parallel. London Ontario is about as far south as Boston so things like that do tend to mess with some peoples conceptions of some things. All I know is it's not as cold here in the winter as Maine is and not as hot in the summer as Toronto so I like it.
