The F.C.C. in my area!!

It's a shame that one asshat can bring on the scrutiny of the feds to an area where most of the guys aren't bothering anyone. I guess it only takes "one bad apple"... meanwhile you've got the "I just got down" retards on channel 6 running 20+kw all day and night long....nothing seems to happen to them?

 For those of us, myself included, who were around in the late 60's/70's, there was always someone talking about "CHARLIE'S IN TOWN", meaning FCC. Did I ever see them, NO and no one I knew ever saw him. I think it's a myth that's been around for a long time. JMHO, hope you understand.............

Why do so many feel the need to run a linear amp anyway?
I guess its the, "I bought it so I might as well use it" state of mind.
I think most forget the antenna system, location, and conditions are the most important factors in successful radio communication.

It's called an advantage.

No, sometimes it's called ego. Some guys just need to have people tell them they are 40 or 50 over nine in the next county over. Others just have a need to tell others that "The amp here is an Alpha (or Henry or QRO Tech etc)".

I remember my dad telling me that he was talking to a friend way above the normal channel range like channel 52 of something like that and the FCC got on and told them the stop or they were going to be tracked down and fined because they were bleeding over into the FM stations that are used in the factory car radios.

they cleaned house in my area south of STL back in 1978,and back in 1990...been many years, and due again. Will put a bent in the national debt if they do.I see on the enforcement page a few here and there, mostly broadcasters stations, and a few from 28am and 6am.But like i always said run 300pep or less ans stay on reg 40 clannels your dont have to worry. And dont raise hell.Or cause troble, tvi so on.

Sounds like someone stringing a line of BS really. The FCC would NEVER do that in a million years. We used to have a lot of that crap happening back 25-30 years ago too. Anyone can key up and say they are the FCC.
