What kind of mics are being used for the VOX feature?

The manual just mentions an optional VOX mic. Will the rear jack accept a typical computer headset combo?

Taking into account Glasgow is a tiny City compared to London,Most European cities and most American cities with a population around 1 million, it is a very unique mentality, one in,all in, its been like that since way before I was born and will be the same way after I'm gone, its in the blood, Gangs are our modern equivalent of Clans and are very territorial, In Glasgow "where you from ?" means either your getting done in or stabbed and shite can destroy a persons credibilty in one word, but for me its home and I get homesick everytime I leave the banks of the Clyde, where some of the worlds finest ships were built,including the Confederacy gun runner the Robert E Lee,wee bit of history for you guys, the gun running still prevails to this day albeit the destination has swung from the Southern States to N.Ireland, European City of Glasgow was a classic, a number of years ago the city council in their infinite wisdom came out with Glasgow'smiles better, lmao, A Glasgow smile is an ear to ear slash, you couldn't make this shit up, a glsgow kiss is a headbutt to the face.

Only 20 miles or so up the road you have some of the finest scenery in the world including Loch Lomond, unbelievable, I'm sure David Highlander 821 who visits family on the outskirts in Clydebank another warzone I used to live in as it borders Glasgows notorious Drumchapel and Yoker districts in the west end will confirm this, Sorry I didn't get your PM till after you'd been last time David, will be a pleasure to meet you next time your over, Yet depite all this in daylight hours Glaswegians can be very friendly and helpful towards lost tourists, at night whole different place, no wonde they call it a tale of two cities. It's even worse on days when Rangers play Celtic as not only does it kick off at the game but all over the city and beyond at night fuelled by a volatile mix of sectarian hatred,drink and drugs, Police are drafted in from all over the area for that one

But home is where the heart is and my heart lies here as its all I've ever known. The entertainment value is high, the dope so good my city is now an exporter and the crack a laugh, one thing Glaswegians have in abundance is a sense of hunour, you fucking need it to survive,lol.

Have to say that having been all over Scotland I only ever found one chippy that actually had deep fried mars bars on the menu and that was in Saltcoates.

The stock mike plugged in to the front works with VOX. Not sure what you are supposed to plug in the rear. But it's a smaller hole than that of the extension speaker socket.

CBRadioMagazine mentions it's for an aftermarket microphone. He demonstrated VOX through the stock hand mic.

The VOX plug socket is smaller (1/8")???? Or 1.7mm

Looks to be for something proprietary. I guess they'll release it later.

That's kinda what I'm thinking as well. I assume it will likely be wireless or something. I'm just surprised that no info has surfaced yet.

Maybe that jack will accept some kind of dongle or something.

It's strange how the Uniden 880, 980 and the President Grant have different 6 pin wiring schemes.

I figured my 880 (which I really like, BTW) would be wired the same as the 980. I tried my superstar pistol grip that was wired for my 980 on the 880 and it wouldn't work without rewiring.

I was also hoping the Grant II manual would show the pinout, but it doesn't.

Hopefully, Simon can expound on the external VOX jack.

The vox jack is to connect a little microphone tho use it hands free.


President sells this little microphone to use with the vox function.
Most of the current president models have this function.

I do not think it is an very interesting function. I played with most president radios but never tryed it or bought the vox-microphone to test it.
