had some spare time this weekend so I did some work on my "camping crate radio" I originally wanted to put everything in an old wood style milk/soda/beer crate but haven't come up with anything local so I decided to just put it in a plastic crate for now just to make sure everything works together.

optima mk3 radio (power set to run the palomar)
clone hm36 mic
radioshack external speaker
radioshack swr/power meter
palomar box
MegaWatt 30 amp power supply(no noise and holds 14v even under a load,, very supprised by this supply!!)
automotive volt gauge

had it up and running last night for a few hours and everything works fine together!
need to go pick up a fan for the palomar but other than that its ready to use

also made a couple antennas to hang in some trees and I made a antenna launcher for about $12 from walmart with a slingshot and fishing reel(tried this out in the back yard and launched a line over a 50' tree with no problem)

I made a 'go-box' out of a fairly large plastic tool box once. Even put a male AC connector on the side to plug it into the wall. Didn't do enough thinking about that, cuz' the radio was DC and I didn't have a small power supply to put in the box. Oh well, it was close to a good idea! Later put in a small'ish gel-cell and a charger. It worked, but wasn't as 'handy' as I thought it would be so I quit using it. (It was a 'take the radio to work' kind'a thingy.)
Lately I've seen a couple of 'Emcom' boxes that were really nice. More than one radio, power supply, speakers and all the 'goodies'. They folded open so that the lid was a work-table, had LED lights. Really nice thingys! But they definitely were not cheap.
Yours looks like it will do what you want it to do so that's the important part...

I didn't see a coffee pot, does it have one?

the megawatt 30 amp supply really surprised me on how small it is and how well its working. I read a few people had problems with noise but mostly good reviews. voltage is very steady and holds fine under a load.
