Have a s45hp sittin on the desk bout 2 months, no probs up till now. Out of the blue, turned it on yesterday, wham, LSB has 70w carrier (no swing), USB has 10w carrier,(swings to 70w) AM and FM Carriers are normal 16w (swings to 70w). Changed mics, coax. pushed around on the board no change. Any ideas or trustworthy repair near alabama?

I had one do a similar thing but it was transmitting on both sidebands together!
No carrier at that time...It was one of the early 80w versions before the RFX75 power bank was added.

Hey morseguy,its been working fine for a year, then not turned on for 2-3months then, WHAM SSb carrier. The carrier balance is no longer an adjustable pot, RV107 looks like 2 resistors, or small caps, idk. Anyone know what the (VALUES) should read on RV107?
Remove and test Q177 & Q178.

Temperature sensitive resistor huh? Sounds like hogwash. Although the part about it being a problem in the carrier balance circuit makes perfect sense.
