I just got my Grant 2 today and the frequency mod was easy and only took a few seconds. I just want to make 100% sure I have the AM power pot location right. It appears to be rt204 AMP. I know a few of you have this radio and would appreciate your input. Is rt204 the AM power pot?

What do you think you're going to gain? Even if you double the power that's only worth half a S point and you're stressing the hell out of the finals for what is a worthless power gain.

Turning it down not up. As always, ask a simple easy question and get everything but a simple helpful answer. A yes or no would have answered the question. so one post later all I have is one smart remark and and nothing that helped with the question. once again thanks for your help and expert advise.

Maybe he wants to make sure the radio is properly set to factory specs, if so then that pot might need a slight nudge. Even thousand dollar ham rigs have the same VR pots for slight adjustments and alignment purposes.

Just goofing around with the Grant, I tried a Ranger RCI mic and it started to change the channels, so then I check for voltage at pin 6 I have 13 volts, I got my Magnum Elecret Condenser mic and it worked, actually I had to put the mic gain light on with it off it picked up too much background noise. Can't wait for the locals tonight to tell me how the Magnum Mic sounds compared to the stock one

I've got a Galaxy Echo Roger Beep desk mic hooked up to mine with a mic adaptor and the locals like the sound of it.

I keep the mic turned on and the power gain on the mic just under 5. My echo is set to 1 or just under.

They say it has a nice full sound to it.

Plus I get an extra beep in there as well. Yay me. :p
