What is your fave 23 ch transistor rig?

Base wise, the Realistic TRC-57 and the Teaberry Stalker 2. Both had the same board in them.

Mobile wise, the Midland 13-893 and the Cobra 138A. Both also had same board. I have one of each of these radios and they both talk fantastic. Both have extras in them, and both have MOSFET finals, since I was out of C1307 finals at the time.

~Cheers~

I wish I could have gotten to my old techs place before he let it go to shit. He had so many old radios it was ridiculous. Saw a few teaberry stalker 2's there as well as a few of the 138's. The place is like a hazard waste land now, I am scared to go there for fear of my health and that is serious as can be. But he has some radios that I wish he would let go. A hoarder he is and didn't seem to want let anything go last time I was there. Had to leave due to the bad conditions. It was terrible, he was an animal and bird guy and them damn animals took over!! Sucks as there was sooo many radios there that I would have loved to have.

YUCK!!!! Ill bet they are trash now... I can't stand hoarders.. I helped a lady move a freezer last week and shes a hoarder. Cat s**t everywhere and stuff just piled. It was freaking NASTY!!

For mobile use, I really like my GEMTRONICS GTX-2325 AM/SSB. Kinda plain Jane without a lot of bells and whistles. but still a solid performer. Nice bassy audio and good power from 1306/1307 driver/final combo. Best noise blanker I've had for mobile operation. Drawback: Crystal controlled ... so channel expansion was a pain. It was my 1st SSB rig, and I liked it so much I still have it.

My trusty old Realistic TRC30A Navaho base. That was my first CB radio. It was purchased in 1975.

It went everywhere. It was my base. On family vacations, it went mobile in the station wagon. On the family boat, I managed to get SWRs down to 2:1 on an Archer (Radio Shack) magnetic mount mobile antenna that I stuck on an extra anchor.

The Navaho proved itself to be ultra reliable. I got rid of it to upgrade to a TRC 448 40 channel SSB.

My first mobile that I used for over 15 years
before giving it to a relative. It was still working
and never repaired. Bought new 1967.

A Layette HB 525
