Different SWR reading

A radio won't change the SWRs. SWR are set on the antenna and feed line if it is 1.6 on one radio on the same Frequency and 2.1 on another believe the lower reading. As power increases so do the SWRs. The Swing in a radio depending on how the Mod was preformed could be causing a Harmonic that is throwing off the SWR. This is easy to prove simply put a bone stock radio on the line and test it again. if the reading is lower then you know. If the harmonic is affecting the SWR you can bet that the radio won't sound good and is splattering as well.

PLEASE PLEASE explain how the amount of current ( wattage) into an antenna can change the impedance of said antenna?

VSWR is checked with a carrier not with a modulated carrier.

Once the carrier is modulated any accurate reading of VSWR is just a guess unless the op is using a meter designed for accurate VSWR while being modulated some thing like an AUTEK WM1 meter which a DOSY is not even close to the same caliber.

My fault did not explain it correctly rf gain all the way up it dead keys 1 3/4 to almost 2 watts meter does not show forward movement to calabrate(in the radio) as I modulate the wattage goes up causing the the meter to move making it impossible to calibrat with my equipment. And it was the dosy meter that read two different readings the realistic meter read the same on both radios. Sorry for confusion.

Big Daddy I understand the low dead key is not enough to calibrate the meter.

I was questioning the other post about how different amounts of wattage changes a VSWR measurement.

Hello I have a old school 2950 receives great on all modes and transmits great on AM but no transmit on SSB. Does anyone have any idea?
