I was checking for licensing tests near me on ARRL and noticed an exam is being given in my town on Jan. 10th. Usually they are all at least an hour away, so i figured why not take a crack at this one since its in town... So that gives me 1 week to prepare.
How manageable do you think it would be to cram for that exam? I have some knowledge of radios, but im pretty new to the hobby. I've been fairly serious about 11m for about a year now.

What would you all suggest I really focus on if im going to cram for the test? Ive been reading through the question pools memorizing answers, should I just keep doing this? I do have a copy of the ARRL Technician class study guide but it was for the old question pool.

Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated!

Take the example tests on qrz.com over and over till you are getting at least 85%.
And focus on the only correct answers when studying. Highlight them in your study guide. Don't fill your mind with incorrect answers. Read the question, then the correct answer, then go on to the next.

radioexam.org

has current question pool and answers exactly as they are on the exam

good luck

Just an update, i passed my Technician exam today. Just waiting for it to process now!

Take the example tests on qrz.com over and over till you are getting at least 85%.

This was great advice by the way... Didn't miss a question. I studied by taking exams on arrl.org and by reading the question pool periodically in my free time. I researched anything I wasn't familiar with enough to familiarize myself with it.
