No magnum didn't make the RadioShack 10 meter radio. Although they look alike the magnum 257HP does about 80 watts on AM and about 65 watts on SSB power wise. The outside may look the same but the insides of the 2 radios are a bit different. Good radios, owned 3 at one time myself, down to 1 now and keeping it. They have new versions out or coming out soon. Same radio, just different amp section. The RFX85 was and is and was a hard little unto to install and had issues at times. That radio looks to be one of the newer ones. The serial number should help determine the age of the radio. That or the poster will tell you how old it is. Good radios for base use. They have a very sensitive rx. Picks up a lot of noise, but it will pull in weak stations as well. I used mine as mobile for over a year and then as a base for a while. Also ran a TNT 600HD with one. Did a good job. Again, good radios as long as no one has had their hands in it!! Good luck with the sale!!

No worries. The magnum is a clone to the HTX if anything. The HTX was not modifiable for 11 meters as far as I know. Maybe some of the very first releases were, but I know that the ones I've seen were 10 meters only. Anyhow, the 257HP is a great radio if you run it right. Lower rf power dk at full power on am to 10 watts. Lower output to 60 watts am and about 50 watts SSB. Add a fan to the heat sink. These are all things I did, and it kept my radio cool and worked great. They really make a nice small base station. Again good luck with sale and God Bless.
