Looking for one of these Mars ready.

Willing to pay a fair and honest price price for a radio in the best shape I can get.
I'm not looking for anyone's beat up problem radio.
I've had enough of those.

I'm told these are one of the best radios for a new ham.

I'm retired now and have some time on my hands so I figure why not get my tech.
If you have one please pm me price and picture if you would.
Regards,
Dave

Gee Dave, I don't know who told you that, but,............. the MKII is out of production and certain parts are NOT available anywhere.

there are radios with a MUCH better receivers with DSP that I would buy new.

YMMV good luck

Oh yes I understand they are a few years old but a couple guys around here use them and like them. They also sound good.

I was looking at the IC-7000 and that's very nice but pricey.

The IC-7300 is new and pricey as well and I am mobile only as I live in a condo.
An attic antenna just doesn't cut it.

If no luck here check QRZ and QTH. I've seen a bunch on the Zed lately as people sell off gear to buy the new IC-7300 :)

It seems as though everyone wants top dollar especially on ebay which I'm very leary about buying a lemon.
Everyone is trying to move a used one at top dollar to buy as you said a 7300.

B,esides that I don't want to spring for a new one.

I'd rather get a nice used 706 to play with,

Yes they are, but,................he ain't gonna listen,......... too bad

Why "ain't I gonna listen?
I did consider that radio and it is within my price range.
I just don't know anyone that has one.

All the 706's around here I've listened to, talked to and on played with so I have a little experience with them.

I wish I had a chance to play around with other rigs like that.

Keep in mind that 706's are old rigs, there are NO repair parts available (easily) and better can be had for less. I own a 706 mkIIg and its a great rig, ran it in the car for years with a screwdriver antenna and worked the world.

I couldn't find a 706mkIIg that I liked so I ended up with a IC-7000.
It looks great and the reviews on it seems to be another hit so I think that's a good versatile starter HF multi rig.
Thanks
