Random Acts of Kindness - WWDX Style

I can sure use those for a project I am working on. To save shipping I'll likely just pick them up. You're up north somewhere aren't you, Captain?

I'm a whole lot further north and a whole lot further east than you are. LOL Drop by sometime. We'll have a drink together to ease the pain of loading them. :ROFLMAO:

To me, north of here means Enid, Oklahoma. LOL
Darn. Was thinking those items would help my Cobra 85 Dynascan get out a little better. :D

Just now saw this post, Jon.
I understand. Thanks for your previous contributions.
I really thought this idea would take off, but I was wrong. :(
I appreciate you being on board for its short duration. (y)

I think this is a good idea, I do understand the shipping thing though, it can get kinda high.

Easy solution is just ask for the receiver to pay the shipping. I’ve done that before in a few RAOK threads on various forums, from radio stuff to aquarium plants.

It makes me feel good to help somebody out, strange to hear that coming from the original dark lord huh? Makes me feel pretty good to blow up a planet too, pesky rebels...

Thought I would try and revive this notion since it basically went nowhere the first time around. The items don’t have to free. Just give someone a GREAT deal they wouldn’t find elsewhere. That works too!

Come on, help somebody out and make their day.

I went through my stuff and found a couple of items I likely won’t use again. I’ll be posting them in the Swapshop shortly.

Glad to see this thread.

The idea is the right one.

My take is to have a complete kit in a transport case (Harbor Freight Apache 2800 $29) which contains all that would have been included in original radio packaging plus what I think is a good idea to have. Spare fuses or different power cords. Mic adaptors.

One has “neighbors”. Others with whom one shares the planet. Who may not know much — if anything — about Radio.

Could be (IMO, ought to be) ones friends and relatives, first.

The radio is the most expensive component. But it’s the rest of the gear that makes for a decent install. Fixed, or mobile.

Something to get them going is my thought.

May mean sticking around for,
After the Gift Service.

Resource List, is big. Acquiring copies or printing off a basic guide, also (not just owners manual).

There is a range of possibilities can be addressed.

I have one in the works that’s a gift, pure & simple. All new. As extensive as I can make it and still fit gear + antenna into secure casing.

I can work it down from there. But I know I also want a minimum to find it satisfactory to my way of seeing.

1). Radio in Apache case.
2). Mobile antenna in PVC tube.

What gets migrated to kitchen counter or on the backseat of the car gets damaged. It’s inevitable.

Do you need a tune up super whack blow up pack? Drop it off and I'll unclog those dark matter injectors and align the emitters.

I’ll have you know my injectors are flowing just fine without YOU getting in there and fouling things up. And my emitters...they emit just enough to get the job done...keep your scruffy, nurf herder hands outta my proton phasers. I’m the original Dark Lord, I command respect!!

We now return you to your regularly scheduled programming...

RAOK is a good idea. I need to dig around and see what I got that might help someone else out.
